Artist Info

Biography

Best known as the drama queen (literally -- she was president of her high school's drama club) who tangled with Jessica over Jason in the second season of MTV's hit reality show Laguna Beach, Alexandra Murrel, aka Alex M, pursued her dreams of a singing career after graduating from school. In fact, one of the reasons Murrel appeared on the show was to get further exposure for her vocal talent. Alex M signed to the Universal imprint Eyecon soon after the second season of Laguna Beach wrapped in 2005, and began working with writers, including Nick Carter, on songs for her debut album. She also performed as part of Seventeen Magazine's 2006 Rock Your Prom tour and appeared in the film The Guardian, as well as season three of Laguna Beach. Her album, which featured rock-edged teen pop à la Ashlee Simpson, Avril Lavigne, and Lindsay Lohan, arrived in late summer 2006, coinciding with the debut of Laguna's third season. To support the album and the show, Alex M did a tour of malls, theaters, and high schools. ~ Heather Phares, All Music Guide
