2000 Globo Award-winning Patrick Shannon was born and raised in New York where he began singing and later playing drums in a rock band. The promising musician served in the United States Marines Corps before returning to his native city to become involved in Latin music. After joining different local bachata-merengue outfits, Patrick Shannon decided to go on his own. In 2000, Universal Latino released his first solo album, featuring the hit single "Estas Enamorada," the popular song "Sin Verte" -- previously recorded by Mexican Pedro Fernández -- and Leo Dan's classic "El Amor Estuvo Aqui." ~ Drago Bonacich, Rovi
