Italian pop singer Marco Carta (born in Cagliari on May 21, 1985) made his official debut as a cast member of the 2007-2008 edition of the popular talent show Amici di Maria de Filippi. At the end of the season, Carta finished first, thus winning not only a prize of 300,000 euros but also a deal with the Italian branch of the Warner record label. His first single, the melodic and catchy "Ti Rincontrerò," was released in June 2008, immediately followed by the album of the same title, which debuted at the third notch of the Italian charts. Having sold more than 40,000 copies in its first week on the market, it achieved gold and then platinum record status. ~ Aurelio Pasini, Rovi
