Named for the small, working-class factory town in New England from which they came, Massachusetts pop/rock quintet Waltham take a community approach to the often unforgiving music business. Their anthemic songs bring to mind '80s hitmakers like Cheap Trick, the Knack, and fellow Bostonians the Cars. The band consists of vocalist Frank Pino, Jr., drummer Mike Rorick, bass player Peet Golan, rhythm guitar player Tony Monaco, and lead guitarist Craig Small. They have appeared in a segment of MTV's You Hear It First, been featured in the Disney documentary America's Heart and Soul, and have won numerous awards in the Boston area. Their self-titled debut was released by Rykodisc in May of 2005. ~ James Christopher Monger, Rovi
