Denmark's Nabiha is a soulful vocalist of both Danish and West African heritage who makes electronic dance-pop. Born Nabiha Bensouda in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1986, Nabiha grew up listening to her parents' eclectic record collection, which included reggae, R&B, disco, and traditional Malian music. A live performer since age 15, Nabiha was discovered by Danish guitarist/producer Søren Reiff, who collaborated with her on his 2003 album, Funky Flavas.
Around this time, she also started making lasting connections in the EDM community, working with such luminaries as the duo Delicious, Benjamin Pedersen aka Kid Massive, and the electronic outfit Geeza, with whom she began performing (rapping under the stage name Tiger Lily). From 2005 on, Nabiha also did her own solo shows and in 2010 released her debut full-length album, Cracks. Her 2012 single "Mind the Gap" hit number one in Denmark, and crossed over into Belgium and Great Britain. Nabiha's sophomore effort, also titled Mind the Gap, arrived in 2013. The following year, the singles "Bang that Drum" and "Animals" peaked in the Danish Top Ten. In the U.S., it topped Billboard's Hot Dance Club Songs chart. ~ Matt Collar, Rovi
