Coroner Confirms Overdose Killed Dee Dee Ramone

Dee Dee Ramone, a founding member of punk rock icons the Ramones who was found dead in his home in June, died of a heroin overdose, the Los Angeles coroner's office said yesterday (Sept. 17). A toxicological examination of blood samples taken during an autopsy found Ramone, whose real name was Douglas Glenn Colvin, died from a lethal amount of morphine in his system, coroner's office spokesman David Campbell said.
