Rapper Juvenile (real name: Terius Gray) surrendered to New Orleans police to face robbery and battery charges. The 28-year-old entertainer was booked yesterday (Sept. 17) in the alleged beating and robbery of his barber in May. He was released on bond.
Pink, David Bowie, and Santana with Michelle Branch are set to perform at the 2002 VH1/Vogue Fashion Awards, to be held Oct. 15 at New York's Radio City Music Hall. The awards show, to be hosted by "Will & Grace" star Debra Messing, will be broadcast live on VH1 at 9 p.m. ET.

Dee Dee Ramone, a founding member of punk rock icons the Ramones who was found dead in his home in June, died of a heroin overdose, the Los Angeles coroner's office said yesterday (Sept. 17). A toxicological examination of blood samples taken during an autopsy found Ramone, whose real name was Douglas Glenn Colvin, died from a lethal amount of morphine in his system, coroner's office spokesman David Campbell said.
James Todd Smith, aka hip-hop artist LL Cool J, has joined the cast of the Columbia Pictures feature "S.W.A.T." Production begins Oct. 19 in Los Angeles, with Colin Farrell, Samuel L. Jackson, Jeremy Renner, and Michelle Rodriguez also starring in the film, which will be directed by Clark Johnson.
