Dave Matthews Band Plans Fall Tour

Dave Matthews Band has announced a nine-date arena tour, set to kick off Dec. 10 Tampa, Fla., and wrap Dec. 22 in Washington, D.C. Beforehand, Matthews will play a solo show Oct. 24 at Seattle's Benaroya Hall, with proceeds benefiting the Pacific Northwest environmental protection organization the Bullitt Foundation. Tickets for the arena shows begin going on sale Oct. 26 via Ticketmaster.

The goodwill tour arranged by Navy's Morale Welfare & Recreation division and Glenn Smith Presents will find the band performing for the 5th Fleet at three American naval bases and on board a deployed aircraft carrier.

Rap Heavyweights Suit Up For '8 Mile'

Eminem has recruited some of the biggest names in hip-hop to contribute to the soundtrack for his film debut, "8 Mile." The album is due Oct. 29 from Shady/Interscope; the Universal Pictures film, directed by Curtis Hanson ("Wonder Boys," "L.A. Confidential") and also starring Kim Basinger, Mekhi Phifer, and Brittany Murphy, arrives Nov. 8 in U.S. theaters. Eminem leads the album with three new solo tracks including "Lose Yourself," which was the top debut last week at No. 43 on the Billboard Hot 100.
