2001 - Rapper Jamal "Shyne" Barrow is sentenced in a Manhattan court to 10 years in prison for his part in a 1999 nightclub shooting. Shyne was convicted the previous March on charges of assault, criminal possession of a weapon, and reckless endangerment.
Although the star-studded Field Day Festival remains in limbo, a suit claiming the event would harm the environment in host city Riverhead, N.Y., has been thrown out of the New York State Supreme Court. A decision on whether Field Day, which is set to feature Radiohead, Beck, and the Beastie Boys, can secure its necessary permits is expected Tuesday (June 2).
