Brotherly pop trio Hanson has formed its own label, 3CG Records, through which it will release its third album, "Underneath," in early 2004. The band, which parted ways with Island Def Jam in May, has also extended its acoustic tour, which wraps Nov. 5 at New York's Carnegie Hall.
Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland has formed his own record label, Softdrive Records. In a joint venture with Interscope, the imprint launches Oct. 14 with the release of "Tell Them Hi," the new album from recently reunited Los Angeles rock act the Campfire Girls.
1998 - Blues guitar prodigy Jonny Lang, rock guitarist Slash, punk rocker Joey Ramone, and Cheap Trickster Rick Nelson are among the musicians who guest-star on "The Drew Carey Show." On the program, Carey's band is looking for a lead guitarist, and a string of axemen audition for the gig - including Ramone, even though he didn't play guitar in the Ramones.
With five nominations, Justin Timberlake is the leading contender for the 10th annual MTV Europe Music Awards, which will be presented Nov. 6 in Edinburgh. The Jive artist is up for best album ("Justified"), best male, best pop, best new act and best song ("Cry Me a River"). Christina Aguilera, who will host the awards show, received four nods, as did the White Stripes.
