R&B/soul star R. Kelly will release his first hits compilation Sept. 9 on Jive Records. "The 'R' In R&B Collection Volume 1" will boast a number of the artist's best known tunes alongside new tracks and a limited-edition remix disc.
Beyonce's "Crazy in Love" featuring Jay-Z posts a second week as the No. 1 track on Billboard's Hot 100. The track saw the biggest gain in airplay on the singles tally, where it is in its ninth week. "Crazy" comes from the Destiny's Child frontwoman's solo debut, "Dangerously In Love" (Columbia), which last week opened on top of The Billboard 200.
Aerosmith is eyeing "making of" footage from sessions for its forthcoming album for a possible home video release. Meanwhile, lead guitarist Joe Perry has contributed score music to the Small Planet Pictures film "This Thing of Ours," which opens July 18 in select U.S. cities. Aerosmith rhythm guitarist Brad Whitford has a cameo in the film.
