Cave In To Tease Major Label Debut With EP

Massachusetts-based rock quartet Cave In will tease its forthcoming major label debut album with the six-song "Tides of Tomorrow" EP, due Oct. 15 via Hydra Head. None of the songs on the set, which features five originals and a cover of late great Kansas City underground rock outfit Giant's Chair's "Everest," are expected to appear on the band's forthcoming RCA album.

Liza Reality Show Leads New VH1 Slate

Liza Minnelli and new husband, David Gest, will be staging a "Cabaret" at their house -- and you're invited. Trying to imitate the ratings magic of sister channel MTV's "The Osbournes," VH1 is offering its own version of a celebrity home invasion television series, "Liza & David," starring Minnelli and Gest in their Manhattan penthouse. The couple's show will emphasize music, with Minnelli singing solo and joining entertainer-friends in duets, Gest said.

A Los Angeles-based producer has sued heavy metal icon Ozzy Osbourne and his wife/manager Sharon, claiming that the couple stole his idea for their hit MTV series, "The Osbournes." In the suit, filed yesterday (July 25) in Los Angeles Superior Court, plaintiff Gary Binkow says he met repeatedly with the couple and executives from Miramax TV in 1999-2000 to discuss "a real-life docu-sitcom" about the aging rocker and his family.
