John Lennon's "Imagine" is inspiring a proposal for a Florida license plate. Michael Towner, 44, a longtime Beatles fan, is leading a campaign to have Florida add an "Imagine" specialty tag to help raise money for food banks. The song includes the line, "No need for greed or hunger."
Party diva Pink will on Nov. 11 release her third Arista album, "Try This." The set, which features a number of songs co-written with Rancid frontman Tim Armstrong, is the follow-up to her breakthrough album "M!ssundaztood." First single "Trouble" which will be sent to U.S. radio outlets Sept. 29 for airplay consideration.
"We really had to get something out there for the fans, because we had intended for our new record to come out this year," Ozomatli bassist Wil-Dog Abers says of "Coming Up," the band's new five-song EP. "But a number of things got in the way of that happening, which actually turned out to be a good thing."
"Cher - The Farewell Tour," an NBC special that has aired twice in the past six months, won three Emmy Awards last night (Sept. 21) in Los Angeles. Only the outstanding variety, music or comedy special award was presented at the ceremony.
Britney Spears, Metallica, Alan Jackson, Ashanti and Hilary Duff are the first artists confirmed to perform on the 31st American Music Awards. The event will be held Nov. 16 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles and hosted by Jimmy Kimmel. ABC will broadcast the show live.
