Godhead singer/guitarist/songwriter Jason Miller is hoping to arrange an all-star release to raise funds for victims of the earthquake and tsunami that struck Eastern Africa and Southern Asia late last month.
Nick Lachey has signed with Jive Records, which is expected to release his second solo album later this year. MTV will chronicle its creation with a reality show tentatively scheduled to premiere in April. Lachey was previously signed to Universal, which released his 2003 debut, "SoulO."
2000 - Loud-mouthed Atlanta Braves pitcher John Rocker earns a new opponent, when the members of '80s heavy metal band Twisted Sister. Rocker, who had come under fire from virtually every segment of American society for his remarks about immigrants and New Yorkers in a Sports Illustrated interview, had been known to make use of Twisted Sister's "I Wanna Rock" to signal his insertion into a game. The band issues a statement insisting that the Atlanta Braves organization halt the practice.
The Offspring is the latest act to sign on for the 2005 Vans Warped Tour. Beyond the California rock act, which is making its first Warped appearance, the 11th annual trek will also feature the Transplants, Thrice, My Chemical Romance and Fall Out Boy. Dates and venues will be unveiled next month.
