Singer Bobby Brown was charged with battery yesterday (Dec. 10) in Atlanta, three days after he allegedly struck his wife, singer and actress Whitney Houston. Fulton County police spokesman Kurtis Young said Brown, 34, turned himself in. Brown and Houston left Fulton County Magistrate Court together after they and their attorneys met with police.
2002 - Electronica maven Moby (Richard Melville Hall) is assaulted following a show at Boston's Paradise Club. In posts on his website, Moby claims to have been attacked by three assailants with mace and beaten. In his website posts, Moby forgives the unknown attackers and asks them reply anonymously and tell him why they attacked him.
OutKast owns the top two singles on Billboard's Hot 100 this week. The Atlanta-based hip-hop duo is entering its second straight week at the top with the Andre 3000-led "Hey Ya!" The Big Boi-driven "The Way You Move" featuring Sleepy Brown, jumps 3-2, and also claims the top slot over on Billboard's Hot Rap Tracks chart with a 2-1 gain.
Los Angeles dance revelers will once again have two massive events to pick from this New Year's Eve. Paul Oakenfold, the Crystal Method, Sandra Collins and Danny Howells will lead an event at the Bonaventure Hotel in downtown L.A., and just a few miles away at the L.A. Sports Arena, Judge Jules, Fergie, Goldie and Lemon D will spin into 2004.
