The documentary "Coachella," which chronicles the first six years of the beloved Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, will descend on 115 theaters in 55 U.S. markets on Jan. 24 via Big Screen Concerts.
The 10 finalists for the inaugural New Pantheon Awards have been chosen. The list includes albums by Animal Collective, Antony and the Johnsons, Fiona Apple, the Arcade Fire, Bloc Party, Death Cab For Cutie, the Decemberists, Kings Of Leon, M.I.A. and Sufjan Stevens. The award will be handed out Feb. 6 in Los Angeles.
2001 - Trail-blazing Brazilian composer/guitarist Luis Bonfa dies of cancer in Rio de Janeiro at the age of 78. Bonfa wrote the bossa nova score for the 1959 film "Black Orpheus," which introduced the lyrical style to a broader audience.

Despite a 34% slip in sales, the set is able to maintain its lead on the main album chart, as well as take over the helm on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart from Mary J. Blige's "The Breakthrough."
