When Devo guitarist Bob Mothersbaugh suffered a serious hand injury last week, the band was forced to postpone or cancel remaining 2010 tour dates including a headlining slot at Austin's Fun Fun Fun Fest next weekend (Nov. 5-7). Since the announcement Wednesday, Fun Fun Fun ticketholders have anxiously awaited word on Devo's replacement, which has paid off with the news that punk legends the Descendents will headline Sunday, Nov. 7 in their first performance since 2002.
In August, the Descendents announced a three-date stint in Australia this coming December, with stops in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. The foursome, fronted by singer Milo Aukerman, formed in Hermosa Beach in 1978 and released quintessential pop-punk album "Milo Goes To College" in 1982. After a few hiatuses and reformations with some lineup changes, the Descendents' released their most recent LP, "Cool To Be You," in 2004.
