One Direction Coming To 'Saturday Night Live'

One Direction to Headline Madison Square Garden

With "Saturday Night Live" hosting a slew of "edgy" rock artists like Sleigh Bells and Jack White this season, as well as YouTube sensations like Lana Del Rey and Karmin, it's easy to understand why boy band fans are wondering the "SNL" love is. But fear not, pop diehards, for your time has come: One Direction, those lovable teen moppets from across the pond, are making their "SNL" debut next month.

The five-piece will perform on the April 7 episode of the long-running variety show, with "Modern Family" star Sofia Vergara also slated to appear on "Saturday Night Live" for the first time. The news arrives one day before the group's debut album, "Up All Night," is released in the U.S. on Tuesday (Mar. 13), after bewitching most of the U.K. upon its release last November.
