Jay-Z will once again kick off a new year alongside his pal Chris Martin of Coldplay, as the rapper and rock band will link up for a special New Year's Eve concert at the newly opened Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.
The co-headlining show on Monday, Dec. 31 follows Jay-Z's eight-night stint opening the new Brooklyn Nets arena in September. In addition, Coldplay has plotted a Dec. 29 date at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., and a solo headlining date at the Barclays Center on Dec. 30.
Tickets for this year's New Year's Eve show go on on Saturday, Nov. 17 at 10 am ET.
Jay-Z and Martin, who collaborated on the track "Beach Chair" in 2006, celebrated New Year's together two years ago, when the hip-hop superstar and U.K. rockers rang in 2011 at the Cosmopolitan hotel in Las Vegas. The good friends also performed at the 2012 Paralympic Games Closing Ceremony.
After touring behind fifth album "Mylo Xyloto" for much of the past year, Coldplay will release its second live album/DVD, "Live 2012," on Nov. 19. The pair of Barclays performances will mark the first New York shows that the band has sold tickets to since 2005.
