Hot Tours: Lady Gaga, Prince, Iron Maiden

Lady Gaga is the No. 1 Hot Tour for the second week in a row with five more performances reported from her ongoing Monster Ball Tour. Ticket sales totals topped $7.4 million from the five sold out concerts that occurred from March 12 through 19. Louisville, Kentucky's new arena, KFC Yum! Center drew a crowd of 17,270 on March 12, the tour's highest attendance total this year among venues with single performances. Lady Gaga is the most recent artist to sell out a concert at state-of-the-art arena that opened last fall. The Eagles filled the house for the inaugural concert on Oct. 16 followed by Justin Bieber and Brad Paisley who sold out their own Louisville stops.

Prince ranks second among this week's Hot Tours with box office totals reported from his three-show run in February at Oakland's Oracle Arena. The concerts on Feb. 21, 23 & 24, part of the singer's Welcome 2 America Tour that kicked off last December, were sellouts drawing a total of 42,475 fans for all three nights.

Heavy metal band Iron Maiden takes the No. 3 ranking with totals reported from its Final Frontier World Tour that began in June 2010 with tour legs in both North America and Europe. The tour resumed in 2011 with a Feb. 11 concert in Moscow at Olympiski, a massive indoor arena built for the 1980 Summer Olympics. Attendance for the performance in Russia was 16,439 with ticket sales topping $2 million (US$). A show in Singapore followed on Feb. 15 with 9,785 in the house at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, the country's largest indoor entertainment venue. The veteran English band will continue touring this year with shows booked in Asia, Australia, Latin America and the U.S. before wrapping with a summer leg in Europe.
