Hot Tours: Kenny Chesney, Lady Gaga, The Allman Brothers Band

Kenny Chesney's Goin' Coastal Tour ranks first among this week's 10 top-grossing tours with box office totals reported from four markets. Along with arenas in Portland, Maine, Uncasville, Conn. and Wichita, Kan., the country superstar also performed at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas, the second NFL football stadium on his 2011 tour itinerary. Attendance for the April 16 performance at the Dallas Cowboys' home venue was 46,551 with $4.1 million in ticket sales. The tour's first NFL stadium date this year was on March 19 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, the home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This summer Chesney will perform at NFL stadiums in Washington, D.C., Green Bay, Wis., Kansas City and Detroit among others as well as a host of outdoor amphitheaters and arenas.

Lady Gaga lands in the No. 2 spot this week with $5.5 million in ticket sales reported from four recent performances on the Monster Ball Tour. Of the four arenas reported, the top grosser was Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. with over $1.5 million from 14,809 sold seats at an April 22 performance. The largest crowd, however, came from the Nashville market with 14,925 in the house on April 19 at Bridgestone Arena. The tour played the Atlanta market on April 18 with 10,864 tickets sold at the Arena at Gwinnett Center and closed out the week in New York's Long Island area with a sellout crowd of 13,195 at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale on April 23.

Taking the No. 3 position in the Hot Tours rankings is The Allman Brothers Band with box office stats reported from its multi-show run at the Beacon Theatre in New York City during March. With almost 36,000 tickets sold, the band grossed over $3.6 million from its thirteen-show engagement (March 10-26). This year marked a return to the 2,900-seat Manhattan theater following an absence in 2010 when the band was booked in another New York area venue. The Beacon run has been an annual tradition for the Allman Brothers for most of the past twenty years.
