Rock legends Def Leppard and Heart occupy the No. 1 slot on Hot Tours as the superstar pairing's Mirror Ball tour traipsed for four months through the U.S. and Canada during the summer, performing primarily at outdoor amphitheaters and arenas. The Def Leppard/Heart ranking is based on ticket totals from concerts that occurred from July 27 to Sept. 24. During that time period, show grosses topped $14.5 million from 278,392 sold seats at 32 concerts. Included among the shed and arena dates on the schedule were performances at state fairs in Iowa (Aug. 13), Kentucky (Aug. 19) and Minnesota (Aug. 26). Next on the Def Leppard itinerary are dates booked in Australia in October and Japan in November, followed by a string of U.K. concerts to close out the year. Heart will be on the bill for the Aussie shows through the end of October.

Red Hot Chili Peppers take the No. 2 slot on Hot Tours with $9.2 million in grosses reported from four stops on the band's six-city Latin American tour leg during September. Hitting the road in conjunction with the act's August release of its album titled "I'm With You," the L.A.-based rock group played to more than 106,000 fans in Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica and Peru. The tour kicked off on Sept. 11 in Bogotá, Colombia with a crowd of 20,000 in Parque Simón Bolívar located in the heart of the city. The following day the band played at the recently opened Estadio Nacional in San José, Costa Rica with attendance just over 20,000. A sold out concert at Lima, Peru's Estadio Nacional on Sept. 14 drew 38,712 fans, and a Sept. 21st performance at Arena Anhembi in São Paulo, Brazil was attended by 27,267.

Country icon Tim McGraw is No. 3 on the tally based on ticket sales from his Emotional Traffic Tour which grossed $7.4 million from 15 shows that occurred from July 16 through the Aug. 13 closer. The tour actually launched on April 8 in Corpus Christi, Texas and played in 50 more cities before wrapping in mid-August. With an overall gross of $23.8 million, the final ticket sales count for the tour was 550,680 from 51 performances.
