Spanish Porn Company Makes Napster Bid

One of the Internet's leading purveyors of pornography has offered to purchase the Napster trademark and Web site address for nearly $3 million in hopes of cashing in on the bankrupt online file-swapping company's notorious reputation. Barcelona, Spain-based Private Media Group Inc. offered to snap up Napster's most valuable remaining asset -- its unique brand identity -- for 1 million shares of Private's common stock, the bidding company announced in a statement issued last week. told a public hearing in Los Angeles on Thursday.
