Kanye West will perform at the BET Awards '10, June 27, according to an announcement posted today (June 10) on the cable network's web site. It will be the infamous rapper's first appearance at an awards show since he upstaged Taylor Swift at last year's MTV VMA Awards.
West is also a double BET Awards nominee for best collaboration (Drake's "Forever" with Lil Wayne and Eminem) and video of the year ("Run This Town" with Jay-Z and Rihanna). Jay-Z leads the overall field with five nominations.
West has been in Hawaii working on his upcoming album, "Good Ass Job." One of his tracks, "Power," made the Internet rounds earlier this month. The rapper/songwriter/producer also performed three mini-concerts at three Chicago high schools on June 8 (his 33rd birthday) for the Kanye West Foundation's third annual Stay in School event. He was joined by fellow rappers Common and Lupe Fiasco.
Also making his return to the BET Awards stage will be T.I. It will be the rapper's first televised performance since his release from jail. Also previously announced as performers: Drake, Trey Songz, Nicki Minaj and Diddy-Dirty Money. Queen Latifah is host of this year's award show, which is marking its 10th anniversary. The ceremony will be broadcast live from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.
