Justin Bieber postponed a Sunday (Aug. 29) concert at the New York State Fair "due to illness," according to a statement on the fair's official website. The Syracuse, N.Y. gig will now take place on Wednesday (Sept. 1), while the Manchester, N.H. stop of Bieber's My World tour has been moved from Sept. 1 to Dec. 9. The teen star will headline New York's Madison Square Garden this Tuesday as scheduled.
Bieber himself indicated that he was under the weather early Saturday morning, shortly after his show in Providence, R.I. "Been super sick lately but u guys are carrying me," he posted on Twitter. "Thank u for the love."
His Saturday night concert in New Jersey went ahead as planned, but the next day, Bieber sent a new update on his condition. "[I'm] getting rest right now and trying to recover from the not so good news from the doctor," he tweeted. "[I'm] gonna be ok just need 2 rest but i wanted all of u 2 know i never want to let any of u down. ever. i really appreciate all the kind words."
"This really sucks," Bieber continued, before shifting focus to the anniversary of Michael Jackson's birthday. "But today isn't about me it is about my hero...Happy Birthday to the best that ever did it...the greatest entertainer of all time...and my hero and inspiration. #HappyBDayMJ RIP."
