Dr. Dre, alongside Chairman of Interscope Geffen A&M Records Jimmy Iovine, Monster Cable CEO Noel Lee and radio host Mario Armstrong, unveiled the new line of products by Beats By Dr. Dre yesterday (Sept. 29) at New York's Best Buy Theater. The presentation was followed with a performance by Soulja Boy and Keri Hilson, both which performed new tracks off their upcoming projects.
The Power Beats and Beats Pro headphones as well as the Beat Box speaker were among the gadgets on display at the event, which was attended by reggae artist Lady Saw and radio DJs Jazzy Joyce, Envy and Enuff -- the latter which was the official DJ for the evening.
After the presentation, the performance portion of the event kicked off with Soulja Boy, who performed a new track off his upcoming "The DeAndre Way" album, slated for a November 16th release date. The track, titled "Speakers Going Hammer," is produced by longtime Drake producer Boi-1da.
SB also performed hit tracks "Swag On" and "Crank That," which had the entire crowd dancing along. "If you've got money, throw your hands up," he told the obedient crowd.
Keri Hilson took the stage next and aside from performing her chart smashes "Turning Me On" and "Knock You Down," she debuted her new song, "Pretty Girls Rock." The uptempo, self-appreciating track is produced by Ne-Yo and Chuck Harmony and will be included in her forthcoming "No Boys Allowed" LP.
