Meat Loaf, Lil Jon, Mark McGrath of Sugar Ray and John Rich of country duo Big & Rich were among the celebrities selling pies at Famiglia's Pizza in downtown New York on Tuesday (Oct. 19). The stunt, which attracted a growing crowd of onlookers throughout the day, was part of a television shoot widely rumored to be for the upcoming season of Donald Trump's NBC reality franchise, "Celebrity Apprentice."
Lil Jon, Busey and Rich stood outside the pizzeria and held up signs promoting the sale of the "celebrity" pizza, with the proceeds for each pie going to charity. At one point, the rapper and the country singer performed an acoustic rendition of Sugar Ray's best-known song, "Fly," to draw support, with Lil Jon telling one fan, "Don't just take a picture - pull out that credit card. Brother, you can make it rain!" Busey, meanwhile, talked casually with onlookers and referred to himself as the "pepperoni prophet."
Inside the restaurant, Meat Loaf manned the register as McGrath flipped pizza pies for smiling customers. Baseball star Jose Canseco, "Survivor" winner Richard Hatch, and David Cassidy were among the other celebrities helping out with delivering the orders.
Speculation about the celebrities vying to become Trump's next "Celebrity Apprentice" began last week, when TMZ reported that Lil Jon and Jose Canseco were joining the show.
