U.K. rock act Muse, fresh from a highly successful 2000, return on Feb. 26 with the U.K. single "Plug In Baby." The Taste Media/Mushroom release is the group's first new material since the critical and commercial achievements of its debut album "Showbiz." The new song is the first taste of their as yet untitled sophomore release, currently being recorded and due in the summer. The album is being produced by David Bottrill, known for his work with Tool, dEUS and A Perfect Circle. Already confirmed is a two-part U.K. tour in advance of the album, with dates April 5-10 and May 23-29, as part of a wider European itinerary. Despite only providing the band with one solitary week in the top-20 of the singles chart -- at No. 20 with "Unintended" last June - "Showbiz" has U.K. sales of more than 180,000, according to Mushroom, and total worldwide sales in excess of 500,000. Last year Muse won the best new band title at NME's Brat Awards and had Q Award nominations for best new act and best album.
