Bob Dylan is most deserving of the kind of all-star musical tribute cable network TNT has afforded to Johnny Cash, Joni Mitchell, and others, a Billboard.com poll finds. Dylan garnered 22.3% of 2,363 votes, easily outdistancing nearest competitors Elton John (17.1%) and Aretha Franklin (12.9%).



Placing next in the voting were Marvin Gaye (11.4%), Janis Joplin (10.8%), Patsy Cline (5.8%), and James Taylor (5.7%). Bringing up the rear were James Brown (5%), Tito Puente (4.6%), and Willie Nelson (4.3%).



The subject of TNT's next all-star tribute will be Beach Boys principal Brian Wilson. The event will be taped March 29 at New York's Radio City Music Hall.
