Rapper Shyne (real name: Jamal Barrow), a co-defendant in the gun-possession and bribery trial of Sean "Puffy" Combs, was arrested Sunday night after being involved in a car accident in New York that left two people seriously injured. According to reports, Barrow is accused of running a red light and hitting another vehicle while driving without a license. No charges have been filed against the rapper; at deadline, he was in custody awaiting arraignment.

The incident forced Judge Charles Solomon to halt jury selection yesterday (Jan. 22) in the Combs case; selection is expected to resume today in New York Supreme Court in Manhattan. Solomon did issue a warrant for Barrow's arrest to guarantee the rapper will be escorted to the judge's court following his arraignment for the traffic violation charges.

Barrow's attorneys claim to have several witnesses who say the other car involved ran the light and doubt that the rapper will be charged with anything more than driving without a license.*
