Legendary guitarist Carlos Santana and R&B diva Mary J. Blige will be honored by Rock The Vote with the Patrick Lippert Award. Named for the organization's late president, the award recognizes artists who are also activists. Previous honorees include Neil Young, Wyclef Jean, Sting, Bono, R.E.M., Pearl Jam, and Queen Latifah.

Santana will be lauded for his long-time support of indigenous peoples and his work with the Milagro Foundation, founded in 1998 with his wife, Deborah. Blige's honor comes in recognition of her work on behalf of several community organizations, including the Partnership For A Drug Free America, the Million Family March, the United Nations, Special Olympics, and the M.A.C. AIDS Foundation among others.

The awards will be handed out Feb. 20 at the House of Blues in Los Angeles. Presented by MTV and hosted by singer/actor/model Tyrese, the ceremony will feature performances by alternative rockers the Foo Fighters, R&B artist Jill Scott, and rap act Black Eyed Peas. Tickets are available to the public by calling 310-559-9334.C
