Destiny's Child, Coldplay, and Sonique have been added to the bill of live performers at the 2001 Brit Awards, set for Feb. 26 London's Earl's Court. They join the previously announced artists Craig David, Westlife, Robbie Williams, and U2, who will close the show with a live performance after accepting the Outstanding Contribution To Music award. The show will be hosted by popular British TV hosts Ant & Dec.

Meanwhile, U2's new U.K. single "Stuck In A Moment You Can't Get Out Of," which was released on Monday by Universal/Island, is set to debut on the singles chart at No. 2 on Sunday (Feb. 4), behind female pop trio Atomic Kitten's "Whole Again," according to "midweek" sales figures.

In other Brits news, votes from listeners of BBC Radio 1 have been tabulates to reveal the shortlist of nominees in the best British newcomer category. This will be fought out between R&B-flavored breakthrough artists Craig David and Artful Dodger, rock notables Coldplay and Toploader, and boy band A1.
