Canadian singer/songwriter Nelly Furtado has lined up a month's worth of North American tour dates in support of her DreamWorks debut album, "Whoa, Nelly!" The trek will begin March 6 in Pontiac, Mich., and close April 7 in Boston.

Furtado is nominated in five categories for Canada's 2001 Juno Awards, including top new artist, top pop album, and top single for "I'm Like A Bird," which is No. 4 on Billboard's Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart this week. The awards will be handed out March 30 in Hamilton, Ontario

"It's about a young person coming out with a creative vision," Furtado told Billboard about her album, which is No. 74 on The Billboard 200 this week. "I don't have people telling me what songs to sing or how to dress. I decide what I want to do with my music, and I decide how I want to look. There's a side of me that's a mystic singer/songwriter and a side that's an urban street kid. There's always a battle between the two, and my music reflects that."

Prior to hitting the road, Furtado will appear next Wednesday (Feb. 21) on CBS' "Late Show With David Letterman."
