Bizkit Guitarist Reveals 'Big Dumb Face'
Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland has adopted the pseudonym "The Tongue Of Colicab" for his side project Big Dumb Face's debut album, "Duke Lion Fights The Terror." The album, due March 6 on Flawless/Flip/Geffen, also features Borland's brother Scott ("The Cardboard Urinal"), a drummer named "Joe Couch," and vocalist/guitarist "The Three Headed Dementrian Pup."
The 12-track album certainly lives up to its billing as a free-time lark, as it jumps from the demented death metal of "Burgalveist," to the mock rockabilly of the single "Duke Lion," and to the Ween-style helium voices on "Kali Is The Sweet Hog" and "Mighty Penis Laser," before reaching the seemingly endless 19-minute closing track "Right In Here."
Borland is making no attempt to pass off the album as high art. In a statement, he wrote, "Let's face the facts: if I weren't the guitar player for Limp Bizkit, [the press release accompanying the album] would have been in your waste paper basket a long time ago." Later, he admits he has "always been a lousy guitar player."
Big Dumb Face plans to tour in support of "Duke Lion Fights The Terror" this spring. As previously reported, Limp Bizkit will kick off a European tour on May 16 in Amsterdam, right after a two-night stand May 9-10 in Mexico City. The group's latest album, "Chocolate Starfish And The Hot Dog Flavored Water," is No. 12 on The Billboard 200 this week.
