Produced by Beck, the eight-track disc will be limited to a run of just 5,000 copies.
"Beck" includes two new versions of the single "Mixed Bizness" -- "Scattershotheory" remix, and "Boxtripbox" mix -- which were the winning entries in a recent remix contest. Also included are several tracks recorded during the session's for 1999's "Midnite Vultures" (DGC/Geffen/Interscope): "Arabian Nights" (included on the Japanese version of the album), "Midnite Vultures" (b-side of "Nicotine & Gravy"), "Dirty Dirty" (b-side of "Mixed Bizness"), and "Salt In The Wound" (b-side of "Sexx Laws").
Rounding out the disc is the "Malibu" remix of "Sexx Laws," by keyboardist Roger Manning, and "Zatyricon," a track made by producer/engineer Tony Hoffer while calling a cosmetic surgery clinic. "Beck" also features a downloadable version of the animated video for "Nicotine & Gravy."
"Midnite Vultures," which is up for the album of the year Grammy tomorrow night (Feb. 21) in Los Angeles, peaked at No. 34 on The Billboard 200 and has sold 613,000 copies in the U.S., according to SoundScan.
