U2's tour in support of "All That You Can't Leave Behind" (Interscope) will set down in Europe in July and August. The band has confirmed what it calls "the first 16 cities" on the tour, kicking off July 6 in Copenhagen, and ending with the previously revealed headlining festival gig at Ireland's Slane Castle outside of Dublin. There is no indication whether or not more cities will be added to the itinerary.
Tickets to three U.K. shows -- Aug. 11 at the Manchester Evening News Arena, Aug. 14 at Birmingham's National Exhibition Centre, and Aug. 18 at Earls Court in London -- are set to go on sale Friday (March 9). Tickets to shows at Prince van Oranjhal in Utrecht, Netherlands, and Slane Castle will go on sale Saturday. As previously reported, the Slane show will also feature the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Coldplay, Kelis, JJ72, and Relish.

U2's world tour will kick off March 24 at the National Car Rental Center arena in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and conclude with a pair of shows June 21-22 at the Continental Airlines Arena in East Rutherford, N.J.
