Next Friday's (March 23) final stop on the first leg of the Backstreet Boys' tour will be heard worldwide via a Yahoo! Webcast. The group's would tour in support of its latest Jive album "Black & Blue" will pull into Mexico City's Foro Sol Stadium, and go live via the 'Net at 8:30 p.m. ET. Members of the group's official online fan club will have access to exclusive concert footage via the band's official Web site.
"Our first live concert Webcast is a real tribute to our great fans," the group's Brian Littrell said in a statement. "We are always looking for new ways to connect with fans, and this Webcast provides a tremendous connection to all of them around the world."
As the concert approaches, Yahoo! will cater to fans of the superstar group with a variety of Backstreet Boys features across the Internet portal, including Yahoo! Music, Yahoo! Shopping, Yahoo! Astrology, and Yahoo! Clubs. In addition, Yahoo! Chat will host the tour's support act, Krystal, on Monday (March 19) at 7 p.m. ET.
The "Black & Blue" tour kicked off Jan. 22 with the first of three shows at the National Car Rental Center in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. The current schedule has the Boys reconvening April 28 for a show at River Plate Stadium in Buenos Aires. The summer leg of the tour will open June 8 in Orlando, Fla., and visit U.S. arenas through a Sept. 1 close in Little Rock, Ark.
Released last November, "Black And Blue" debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 after selling 1.6 copies in its first week at retail. The feat made the act the first in history to achieve sell more than 1 million copies in the first week with back-to-back releases. The set has moved more than 4.8 million copies in the U.S. to date, according to SoundScan.
