Two rock outfits of the moment will be on display when the U.K.'s Coldplay and California-based Grandaddy pair for a North American tour this spring and summer. The trek will get underway May 30 in Atlanta and wrap June 27 at New York's famed Radio City Music Hall. Beforehand, Coldplay will descend on New York on April 9 to make up a February concert cut short by illness.
Coldplay will be touring in support of its Nettwerk/Parlophone debut "Parachutes," which is No. 65 on The Billboard 200 this week, and features the single "Yellow," which is No. 10 on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks chart. Grandaddy is playing behind last year's acclaimed V2 release "The Sophtware Slump."
As previously reported, Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin's nagging vocal problems have forced the group to cancel nine European tour dates, which were due to begin Sunday (April 1) in Paris.
