Melissa Etheridge will preview songs from her forthcoming album in a taped performance for cable network Oxygen's music program, "Daily Remix." Etheridge's performance will be filmed on April 20 and air this summer to coincide with the release of her seventh Island album, "Skin." Tentatively scheduled for release in late June or early July, the album will hit stores in conjunction with Etheridge's autobiography, "The Truth Is."

"Skin" was self-produced by Etheridge, with the singer/songwriter playing "everything but drums," according to a spokesperson. The final track listing and first single have yet to be decided.

Visitors to Oxygen.com will select six of the songs Etheridge will perform, as well as the stage backdrop and Etheridge's wardrobe, with matching guitar strap, of course. The strap will later be the prize in an Oxygen.com contest. Fans can post questions for Etheridge in the "Ask Melissa" area of the site, which will be answered by the singer before the performance airs. The site will also stream a two-minute clip from the concert every week until the airdate.

Etheridge's last album, "Breakdown," debuted at No. 12 on The Billboard 200 in October 1999 and has sold 563,000 copies in the U.S., according to SoundScan.
