A claymation version of Canada's Barenaked Ladies will make an appearance Friday (April 13) on the UPN series "Gary & Mike." The episode will feature the voices of various bandmembers offering commentary on the hapless title characters' road trip across the U.S.

As previously reported, the band will kick off its North American summer tour July 12 in Toronto. The Ladies -- who are touring in support of their latest Reprise album "Maroon" -- will be supported by Vertical Horizon July 13 through Aug. 3, and by the Proclaimers Aug. 6 through the tour's closing stand Aug. 25-26 at the DTE Energy Music Theatre in Clarkston, Mich.

Beginning last week, the Jason Priestly-directed documentary on the band, "Barenaked in America," became available for rental exclusively through Blockbuster Video stores. The film will be released through retailers on video and DVD in about three months, although a specific release date is yet to be determined.

Released last September, "Maroon" debuted at No. 5 on The Billboard 200, and was certified platinum one month later by the Recording Industry Association of America for U.S. sales of 1 million copies. The set has sold 935,000 copies in the U.S., according to SoundScan.

Lead single "Pinch Me" peaked last November at No. 2 on Billboard's Adult Top 40 chart and at No. 15 on The Billboard Hot 100. Follow-up "Too Little Too Late" debuted at No. 86 on the Hot 100 last week..
