Pop/punk trio Green Day has lined up 13 North American dates for a summer outing, which gets underway June 17 in Minneapolis and wraps up July 3 in Pittsburgh. The tour will start shortly after the release of the group's latest single, 'Waiting," a video for which the band is planning to shoot this weekend in Los Angeles.
The group, touring in support of the Reprise album "Warning," which debuted at No. 4 on The Billboard 200 last October, staged a brief outing last winter, but has yet to hit major markets such as Los Angeles and New York. Green Day's summer trek will also take the group overseas to partake in the Reading, Leeds, and Glasgow Green music festivals on Aug. 24-26.
Lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong can be heard playing guitar on the new single by the Go-Go's, "Unforgiven." Green Day's single "Minority" hit No. 1 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Tracks chart last October. "Waiting" is currently at No. 26 on the tally.
