"Hash Pipe," the first single from Weezer's long-awaited "The Green Album" (Geffen/Interscope), has quickly caught fire at U.S. rock radio stations. In its first week, the track is already in the top-10 at major stations such as WXRK New York, KROQ Los An geles, and WBCN Boston, helping it to a No. 37 debut on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks chart this week. "The Green Album" is due May 15.

In the meantime, Weezer is in the midst of a short tour of Japan, and is gearing up for an April 28 appearance at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in Indio, Calif. A full North American tour is in the works for later this summer; for now, a handful of radio station concerts and European festival dates have been confirmed. The group will not be appearing on thi s summer's Vans Warped Tour, as had been previously announced.
