Instrumental-leaning Matador labelmates Mogwai and Bardo Pond will team for a month of North America dates, beginning May 24 in Philadelphia. A number of shows are still tentative, but performances in Lawrence, Kan.; Vancouver; San Diego; Tempo, Ariz.; Dallas; Athens, Ga.; and Atlanta are expected to be confirmed shortly.

While Bardo Pond creates imaginative tunes shadowed beneath a static-filled psychedelic haze, Scotland's Mogwai has dedicated its career to exploring the breadth of the guitar. Both acts have new albums out tomorrow (April 24) that find them moving toward a pleasing, low-key post-rock sound. Bardo Pond's "Dilate" turns down the feedback to showcase its adventurous arrangements, while Mogwai's "Rock Action" incorporates vocals to create a somber, late-night mood.
