Georgia rockers Third Day took top honors at the 32nd annual Gospel Music Association Dove Awards, presented last night at Nashville's Grand Ole Opry House. The Essential Records act won five awards: rock recorded song, praise and worship album, group of the year, artist of the year, and special-event album of the year.

Other top winners included Nicole C. Mullen for songwriter of the year, song of the year, and pop/contemporary song. Steven Curtis Chapman, who hosted the event, won his seventh Dove for male vocalist, while Nichole Nordeman won for female vocalist. Boy band Plus One was named new artist of the year.

The ceremony will be broadcast tomorrow (April 28) on Pax TV and May 4 on WGN-TV. The Dove Awards' 45 categories are voted on by the 5,500 members of the Gospel Music Association (GMA). For a full list of winners, visit the Dove Awards' official Web site.
