Stone Temple Pilots will headline this year's edition of the Family Values tour, frontman Scott Weiland says on the group's official Web site. The tour, which took a hiatus in 2000 after two successful jaunts featuring the likes of Limp Bizkit and Korn, is slated to hit arenas beginning in October. The rest of the lineup has yet to be finalized, but Staind and System Of A Down are said to be on the bill.

As previously reported, STP has completed its fifth studio album, "Shangri-La Dee Da," which has been moved up a week from its initial release date of June 26. The group's Web site reports that the album has "an equal balance of hard rockers, mid-tempo pop songs and ballads, a few of which have Latin influences."

A documentary about the recording process was shot by the sibling team of Rebecca and Chapman Baehler, and is expected to be released later this year.
