Singer/songwriter Joe Henry has secured a support slot on two upcoming tours. First he'll open for David Byrne's entire North American trek in support of his new Virgin album "Look Into the Eyeball" (due Tuesday (May 8) on Virgin). Those dates begin May 10 in Providence, R.I. and last through June 1 in Los Angeles. In the midst, Henry will play one solo headlining show on May 19 at the Phoenix Hill Tavern in Louisville.

He will then hook up with Emmylou Harris for an eight-date West Coast swing starting on June 28 in Vancouver, and wrapping July 19 in L.A. In between the two tours, Henry will make a June 25 appearance on CBS' "Late Show With David Letterman."

Henry will be out in support of his latest album, "Scar," due May 15 on Mammoth. The 10-track set features guest appearances by jazz great Ornette Coleman, enigmatic artist Me'Shell Ndegeocello, pianist Brad Meldhau, and Latin guitarist Marc Ribot. The album includes "Stop," a re-recording of "Don't Tell Me," the worldwide smash hit he co-wrote for his sister-in-law Madonna's "Music" album.
