Alanis Morissette has lined up a summer European tour, set to kick off June 1 at the Rock Am Ring festival in Nurburgring, Germany. The artist will warm up for the trek with two shows on May 25 and 26 at the 900-capacity El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles. Tickets for those performances go on sale Sunday (May 13) through Morissette's official Web site.

In January, Morissette announced on her site a June 12 release for her next Maverick/Warner Bros. studio album, but no date has been confirmed, according to the label. The set is said to be an entirely self-produced affair, and is described as "harder" and "edgier" than past efforts. In the downtime since the release of 1998's "Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie," the artist issued "MTV Unplugged," which peaked at No. 63 on The Billboard 200 in December 1999.

Morissette recently co-wrote a song for former Whiskeytown frontman Ryan Adams' next Lost Highway solo album, "Gold," due by the end of the summer.
