Stone Temple Pilots has confirmed its first European tour since the mid-'90s, set to begin Aug. 16 in Oporto, Portugal and run through an Aug. 26 performance at the Lowlands Festival in Dronten, Holland. The trek comes in support of STP's new Atlantic album "Shangri-La Dee Da," due June 19 in North America, and a day before internationally.
At present, the group's lone North American date is the Rolling Rock Town Fair, to be held Aug. 4 in Latrobe, Pa. As previously reported, STP has been tipped to headline this year's Family Values tour, although full details have yet to materialize.
First single "Days of the Week" is set to debut in the top-25 of Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks chart this week, and is garnering heavy airplay at WXRK New York, WARQ Columbia, S.C., and WPLY Philadelphia. A video for the cut was recently shot by longtime collaborator Kevin Kerslake, who directed clips for past STP singles "Interstate Love Song" and "Vasoline."
