Veteran U.K. rock outfit Oasis will celebrate the 10th anniversary of its first live gig with a six-date U.K. theatre tour. The jaunt will begin Oct. 7 with the first of two shows at London's Shepherd's Bush Empire and will close Oct. 14 in Glasgow. Oasis played its first show on Aug. 18, 1991, at the Boardwalk in its hometown of Manchester, but didn't tour the U.K. widely until the fall of 1993.

The group, which recently concluded its North American Tour of Brotherly Love with the Black Crowes and Spacehog, received a less than favorable response at a Paris support gig for Neil Young on Sunday. Without any apparent motivation, fans reportedly spit at and threw tomatoes at frontman Liam Gallagher.

Both Liam and his guitarist/songwriter brother Noel are said to have written a number of new songs for Oasis' next studio album, which will be the follow-up to 2000's "Standing on the Shoulder of Giants" (Epic/Big Brother).

Here are Oasis' tour dates:
Oct. 7-8: London (Shepherd's Bush Empire)
Oct. 10-11: Manchester, England (Apollo Theatre)
Oct. 13-14: Glasgow (Barrowlands)
