Socialite songwriter Denise Rich, whose fugitive ex-husband received a controversial pardon from then-President Bill Clinton earlier this year, has signed a deal to produce a book and a song, both titled "Pardon Me!"

In the book, Rich will tell the story of her marriage to billionaire Marc Rich, who fled the United States just before federal prosecutors brought charges against him for alleged tax fraud, racketeering, and trading with the enemy, according to a statement released by Sterling, Va.-based Capital Books International.

She also will tell all about her relationship with former Clinton and his wife, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, and the ensuing investigation of the pardon Marc Rich received. "Nothing I have ever done in my life has followed traditional paths," Rich said in the statement.

Rich -- who instead of receiving a traditional advance for the work has formed a partnership with the publisher -- will work with writer Laura Morton, whose six best sellers include books with Joan Lunden, Melissa Etheridge, and Marilu Henner. The book is expected to be published in April.

A call to a spokesperson for Rich was not immediately returned.
