Michael Jackson's upcoming 30th anniversary concert has been expanded to two shows. In addition to the original Sept. 7 date, a second concert will be held Sept. 10 at New York's Madison Square GardenMichael Jackson's upcoming 30th anniversary concert has been expanded to two shows. In addition to the original Sept. 7 date, a second concert will be held Sept. 10 at New York's Madison Square Garden, according to organizers. A third show on Sept. 9 is also possible, according to a source at the venue, where the event will use more than two days, beginning Sept. 4, to load in staging and equipment for the extravaganza.
As previously reported, the concerts saluting the King of Pop's 30-year-long solo recording career will feature a "who's who" of entertainers to pay tribute to Jackson, including 'N Sync, Whitney Houston, Ray Charles, Quincy Jones, Luther Vandross, Britney Spears, and Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott.
The 42-year-old Jackson -- who is expected to perform music from his upcoming Epic album, "Invincible" -- will also reunite with his brothers, the Jacksons, for the first time in years during the event. The show will be taped for later broadcast on CBS television.
A tentative release date of Sept. 25 has been set for "Invincible," Jackson's first album of new studio material since 1995's "HIStory."
